Depression is caused by a chemical imbalance in the brain and when different events are happening in your life the imbalance causes you to have some or all of these symptoms and it affects your normal life activities and affects the ones around you. The way you feel and act can have a devastating and harmful effect on yourself and your family, friends, your job and co-workers. The condition is treatable with medications or therapy or both but the patient needs to make the first move and admit they have a problem and seek their doctors help. If the condition goes untreated it can escalate to a dangerous level for the person who is suffering from it and also from others.
Once the patient is on medication and/or therapy it will take a while for them to get back to their normal personality and activities and everyday lives. Many family problems are caused because a member of the family are suffering from depression and refuses to get help. The results may be divorce, abuse, or death. If you are experiencing any of the above symptoms of depression, contact your doctor so they can get you back on track before something bad happens in your life. You can prevent dangerous acts by getting help but you can not change things back to the way they were if something has already happened.. Seek help so you will not miss out on your daily life or activities. With proper medication you can be as normal as the next person. The medication will help balance the chemicals in the brain which are causing your problems. Remember, it is not your fault if you are suffering from depression, but you can help in the recovery from it. The choice is up to you.
